Con Mis Manos exists to assist the Deaf and their families through education, counseling, vocational training, and evangelism. CMM is a non-denominational Christian ministry showing the truth of God's love and salvation to those who cannot hear.
Con Mis Manos began as a ministry started by Michelle Peek in February 2003. God opened the door to begin volunteering as a teacher in the Mexican Public Schools working with Deaf students. In addition, Michelle held private tutoring sessions with families in the area and taught the Deaf at a church in Matamoros.
In May 2004, the deaf ministry celebrated a Grand Opening of its ministry headquarters in Matamoros. The Ministry was named "Con Mis Manos" Centro de Ayuda Para Niños Sordos (With My Hands - Center of Help for Deaf Children).
In January 2005, Con Mis Manos began its very first official school semester. In addition to the work in Matamoros, the ministry is also involved in reaching the deaf in Valle Hermoso, Mx.
Currently, we are blessed with a team of two full-time missionaries and four volunteers. Together, this team provides the educational programming, vocational training, special events, church outreach, much more that makes up the entirety of Con Mis Manos.
In the US, Con Mis Manos is supported by several dedicated churches, numerous individuals, and community organizations who volunteer their time, resources, and finances to invest in the ministry of Con Mis Manos.
The number of students continues to grow and we praise God for His faithfulness. We are excited to see these students successfully communicate and ultimately understand God's saving grace.
The ministry works in partnership with Workers For Mexico Mission (WFMM). WFMM strives to serve throughout the country of Mexico, participating in a wide variety of ministries including churches, medical clinics, Bible Colleges, feeding programs, camps, etc. To find out more about WFMM or to learn more about the partnership between Con Mis Manos and Workers for Mexico, please check out: (www.workersformexico.org).
